I saw a Twitter tweet by Drape who was looking for free Clip Art of a light bulb. I had been meaning to post about a few Free Photo clip art resources, but never did. His Tweet nudged me to go ahead.
Now, each of these has restrictions of some sort (non-commercial, attribution, etc.), so be sure to read closely.

Update: Grab++ seems to be worth a look

I blogged this post, simply by dialing a number on my cell phone, and speaking. That was it.
It was so cool, I wanted to share it with you. Now, I am sure someone has already created this "How To" but I am so jazzed about blogging from my cellphone, that I HAD to write this up!
What you need:
- A free account with Jott.com Jott is a FREE voice-mail transcription service. They take your voice, turn it into text and allow you to do many things with the message. One of which, is emailing it to a specific address. Such as, to you blog. Note: You have a 30 second time limit, but one can say a lot in that time. (Jott is for USA residents only for now) :(
- A Vox Blog, or any blog that will accept an email as a way to post content. I am using Vox, so that's what I will cover.
- A cell phone (or land line, but mobile is more fun)
What to do:
1) First, sign up at Jott.com and get your account set up. Jott's usefulness FAR exceeds this one use I am showing you, so later on, please be sure to explore all it can do!
They walk you through the process, and it takes less than 5 minutes.
Stay logged in at Jott for now.
2.) Next, if you blog at Vox, open a new browser window (or tab), log in to Vox and click on your "Account" link. You can get a FREE Vox account by clicking here.
Then go to Mobile Settings.
This is where Vox gives you a cryptic email address (to thwart spam to your blog). Drag your mouse across the text of the email address, and hit copy it.
Note: Many people use this email address for sending phonecam pics from their cell phones to their Vox Blog. If you have this set up already, scroll down to "Additional Posting Emails" and add click "Add a posting address."
Now, at this point, make sure that on the "Create Post" line you have "Yes" selected.
Also, you could (and should) add some tags. Any post you make will use these tags by default.
3) With the cryptic email address copied to your clipboard, go back to the Jott window or tab you have open. Click on "Contects" then "New Contact."
4) Once on the New Contact page, enter a first name - such as "Vox." When you call Jott, they will ask "Who do you want to Jott?" and you will say this name. So, pick a name you know is only for blogging.
For last name, how about "Blog."
This is the IMPORTANT part. For email, paste the email from your clipboard.
Click Save. You are all done with the web stuff now!
You: Dials #
Phone: "Who'd You Like To Jott?"
You: "Vox"
Phone: "Vox Blog" beeeeeep
You: "Hey, guess what? I am blogging this from my cell phone!"
6) Check your blog, and the post will look something like this!
7) You will probably want to go back and clean up your Jott post, it has a tendency to insert a lot of blank lines,
There you have it! An easy way to blog, right from your cell phone, from anywhere!
Let me know if you try it, I'd love to see your Jotts!
I just DL'd (in the legit sense) a great MP3 from AOL's Spinner.com. Spinner routinely uploads free MP3s to expose new music to the masses.
The tune I snagged is a remix of "Still Frame" by Lusine. You can grab it here.
If you like free MP3s and new music, then you should also check out the Spinner.com MP3 category, which lists ALL of the free MP3s available.
Not all are great, and I have not heard of 88% of the artists (but then again, I am kinda old), but they all are FREE.
Lastly, while not free MP3s, AOL streams new CD releases every week. The selections change every week, so you will want to Bookmark 'em and go there often.
AOL has 2 streaming sites, this one for more mainstream CDs, and this one for more alternative & dance oriented music.
My fave this week? The soundtrack to Frank Miller's "300" which you can hear on the first link (for a limited time).
Free Antivirus - Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic
Pocket PC/Windows Mobile Daylight Savings Time Patches - A details, if not confusing, set of steps needed to update your Windows Mobile device.
AOL Exclusive DJ Mix: Misstress Barbara - Good dance-trance tunes in streaming Flash goodness
Free MP3s at AOL's Spinner.com - Mmm, free mp3s (never heard of ANY of them, but free IS free...)
This TaxCut offer has no e-file or State forms, but it is free. Visit this link and you can download TaxCut Basic and start working on your taxes.
I usually use TurboTax, so I am not sure how good TaxCut is. Still, it is worth a download.
There are other free tax programs, if you qualify, from the Government. You can find those here.
Today only (1/18/2006), visit Giveawayoftheday.com and you can have a fully functional version of FeedMix. If you are into Podcasting or an RSS junkie, you should jump on this deal.
Here's how:
- Visit GOTD
- Download the .ZIP file (and get the free Zip Central, if you don't have a Zip tool)
- Go to the FeedMix folder you just created, and run Setup.exe
- It will connect to the GOTD site, so be sure your firewall let's it pass through
- The installation program will start, so install it
- When you close the installer, a brower will launch. Close it.
- Behind the windows, the Setup program should have a pop-up showing a registration code. Copy that to notepad, and save it. You can use it if you need to re-install.
- Run FeedMix, click Help from the menu, select Register and copy and paste the code you just saved.
- Done!
FeedMix is regularly $49.95, but today, and today only, you can get it for free.
Just wanted to pass it along....
Just a quickie post to let you know about the wicked-cool website "GiveAwayOfTheDay.com."
As the site's title says, every day (even Saturday, Sunday and Holidays) http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ gives away a 100% free, fully registered, fully legal download of a new software program.
I was late to the party and missed a few good ones, but I have also received a lot of gems since I discovered the site.
If nothing else, just add the RSS feed from the site to your reader so you can at least glance at what they have every day.
The other site is really part of "GiveAwayOfTheDay.com", but on this site, they give away a new Game! Not all of them are super-great-fantassmik, but they are all free. And hey, to kill some time, a game doesn't have to be all that good. But more are better than average, so check it out.
"GiveAwayOfTheDay.com" is definitely a good bookmark for your daily web reads.
From 10 to noon, swing by any USA Starbucks for your free tall (12 oz) coffee.
According to Starbucks Gossip, it is nation-wide.
Looks like I'm taking an early lunch!
